Remarks Low Leakage applications
All capacitors to earth (referred to as Y capacitors) in the internal EMC filters of the motor drive should be interrupted, as these capacitors can generate additional leakage currents. Drives with built-in EMC filters are not recommended e.g. with low leakage filters.

Remarks EMC/EMI Filters:
All suggested Schaffner products are recommendations. The final suitability can be guaranteed only by a measurement in the application and is part of the responsibility of the customer. The information of the limit value class C1 or C2 covers only the conducted emission. The Drive Options, which are not produced by SIEMENS itself, nevertheless the manufacturer have a prozessual certification from SIEMENS, no liability is assumed by SIEMENS.

Remarks for 200 V Passive Harmonics and Output Filters:
The final filter suitability can only be guaranteed in terms of a measurement within the application and is part of the responsibility of the customer. All suggested Schaffner products are recommendations only.  Please use the document “Remarks for Schaffner Recommendation List” available in the Tools and Tips section of this page for further information.
Please be aware that dv/dt filters do only work on differential mode.
For those Drive Options that are not produced by SIEMENS itself, but manufacturer has a processual certification of SIEMENS, no liability is assumed by SIEMENS.

Remarks for 400 V Passive Harmonics and Output Filters:
The final filter suitability can only be guaranteed in terms of a measurement within the application and is part of the responsibility of the customer. All suggested Schaffner products are recommendations only.  Please use the document “Remarks for Schaffner Recommendation List” available in the Tools and Tips section of this page for further information.
Ecosine High Power line filters do require motor drives equipped with an 8% (minimum) DC-link choke or the application of a 4% (minimum) AC line choke at the input side of the drive!
Please be aware that dv/dt as well as sine wave filters do only work on differential mode. Dv/dt and sine wave filters ensure compliance with the requirements of IEC60034-17 (general purpose motors) for cable length named in the data sheets (screened/unscreened). Sine wave filters additionally do provide a sinusoidal phase-to-phase motor terminal voltage but have very limited effect on common mode.
For those Drive Options that are not produced by SIEMENS itself, but manufacturer has a processual certification of SIEMENS, no liability is assumed by SIEMENS.

Ecosine FN 3410 HV filters from 45 kW on do require motor drives equipped with DC-link choke or the application of a 4% (minimum) AC line choke at the input side of the drive!
Please be aware that dv/dt as well as sine wave filters do only work on differential mode. Dv/dt and sine wave filters ensure compliance with the requirements of IEC60034-25B (inverter duty motors) for cable length named in the data sheets (screened/unscreened). Sine wave filters additionally do provide a sinusoidal phase-to-phase motor terminal voltage but have very limited effect on common mode. For the use of general purpose motors on 690V with dv/dt or sine wave filters Schaffner does strongly recommend to contact Schaffner representative prior to any project in order to verify the suitability of the drive-output filter-motor-combination.
